|Election Committee - Introduction|
The election committee will consist of three to five members, including the chair, who are appointed by the President or designee. The term of the chair is one year. Terms of other members are at the discretion of the chair. Additional members may be asked to assist in the committee duties. No current candidates for elective Society office shall serve on the committee.
The chair is responsible for selecting and notifying the committee of the date, time and place to convene the committee. The principle duty of the Election Committee is to receive and count the ballots from the membership for the annual election of a Second Vice President and two members on the Board of Directors. The Election Committee may also be asked to count ballots for special elections, such as changes in by-laws or policy affirmation. Once the ballots are counted, the Chair will tabulate the count and have it verified by the Executive Vice President or designee.
Chair: Dr. John E. Mitchell
