Position Summary
The University of Idaho invites applications for an extension and research faculty position in rangeland ecology and management to be located the in Boise, ID. The successful applicant will be affiliated with the UI Rangeland Center, hold an appointment in the Forest, Rangeland, and Fire Sciences Department, and will be a part of University of Idaho Extension.

Extension Specialists are expected to (1) work closely with Extension Educators to develop or coordinate district or statewide extension programs in a discipline; (2) plan, implement, and evaluate demonstrations of research-based information such as field plots or trials; (3) develop district or statewide interdisciplinary programs; (4) keep Extension Educators up-to-date on new research and extension information through in-service trainings, webinars, conference calls, etc.; (5) build coalitions and develop collaborative programs statewide with communities, commodities groups or agencies to address long-range problems; (6) make invited presentations to decision makers, clientele groups, and professional organizations; (7) author UI Extension and Experiment Station publications and regional publications; and (8) publish in trade journals, proceedings, handbooks, magazines, newsletters, refereed journals and mass media; (9) develop and maintain educational websites and online short courses.

An Extension Specialist appointment requires a doctorate or appropriate terminal degree. The Extension Specialist position usually is a promotable, tenure-track position. Extension Specialists can hold the faculty rank of assistant, associate, or full professor.
